Third party authorization

Policy

  • You must obtain client consent before you share any personal information with a third party except where allowed by privacy regulations. The consent can be written or verbal but must be documented.
  • You must tell the client:
    • To whom the information will be disclosed
    • Why it will be disclosed
    • What information will be disclosed.
  • Personal information can only be disclosed for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate under the circumstances.
  • You are responsible for personal information in your possession or custody, including information that has been transferred to a third party for processing.
  • You should use contractual or other means to provide a comparable level of protection while the information is being used by a third party.
